Ingredients:

  • 6 oz blackberries, fresh,
  • 1 sprig fresh basil
  • 8 oz rum, white
  • 1 cup ice
  • 4 oz blackberry basil rum
  • 1 oz vermouth, dry
  • 2 tsp J. Olive Co. extra virgin olive oil

Directions:

  1. Place in a jar:
    • 6 oz blackberries, fresh
    • 1 sprig of basil, fresh
  2. Cover berries and basil with:
    • 8 oz rum, white
  3. Seal jar and refrigerate 1-4 weeks until desired flavor is reached. Discard basil after 1 week.
  4. Fill a cocktail shaker with:
    • 1 cup ice
  5. Add:
    • 4 oz blackberry basil rum
    • 1 oz vermouth, dry
  6. Cover and shake cocktail shaker until the outside of the shaker is frosted.
  7. Strain and divide the mixture evenly into two martini glasses.
  8. Top cocktails (divided evenly) with:
    • 2 tsp extra virgin olive oil

Notes:

Serving Suggestions: Use a flavorful extra virgin olive oil, even a flavored olive oil like lime or orange.

Cooking Tips: Add a dash of bitters for a smoother drink.
